Choose the Right Gate System

Driveway dimensions, vehicle traffic volume, and property aesthetics dictate the ideal gate configuration. We build and install four primary mechanical gate types.

Commercial Slide & Cantilever Gates

For high-traffic HOA entrances, industrial depots, and shallow-drive commercial properties, aluminum or steel panels run on ground tracks or enclosed cantilever rollers. Continuous-duty slide operators with soft-start and soft-stop profiles keep traffic moving smoothly.

Automated Swing Gates

For private estates, gated subdivisions, office parks, and private entryways, single or dual swing leaves use heavy-duty ball-bearing hinges for demanding iron or aluminum panels. Linear or articulated operators provide concealed wiring and reliable limit control.

Parking gate

Rapid Commercial Barrier Arm Gates

For parking garages, visitor lanes, freight yards, and gated communities, aluminum or LED barrier arms span 8 to 16 feet and open in 1.5 to 2.5 seconds. Brushless DC motors and breakaway brackets protect internal motor shafts from vehicle impact at speed.

Luxurious gate

Underground Concealed Swing Operators

For luxury estates and architectural properties, waterproof foundation boxes sit flush within concrete or paver driveways to hide the operator. Submersible electromechanical or hydraulic drives deliver quiet swing-gate operation up to 180 degrees.

Keep the Gate Moving Through Heat, Storms, and Outages

South Florida heat, lightning, hurricane conditions, and power outages put gate systems to the test. We select operators, backup power, and protective enclosures for reliable daily operation.

24V DC Brushless Continuous-Duty Operators

Most of our operators use 24V DC continuous-duty brushless motors that run cooler and quieter through frequent cycles. Soft-start and soft-stop control reduces stress on hinges, rollers, chains, and other moving parts.

Integrated Battery Backup Power Systems

When storms knock out utility power, our battery backup systems keep your gates fully operational. Selected battery backup packages provide up to 1,000 cycles during a power outage. Fail-safe opening can be configured where required for emergency access.

Marine-Grade Equipment and NEMA 4X Protection

Coastal air, rain, and salt can corrode unprotected gate equipment. We specify marine-grade aluminum components and NEMA 4X-rated enclosures to protect electrical controls from moisture, UV exposure, corrosion, and lightning-related surges.

UL 325 Safety and Liability Protection

Every gate system is designed around UL 325 entrapment-protection requirements and ASTM F2200 gate-construction standards.

  • Infrared Sensors: Monitored photo eyes stop closure when a vehicle or pedestrian occupies the path.
  • Safety Edges: Reversing safety edges stop and reverse the gate on impact.
  • Vehicle Loops: In-pavement safety loops keep gates open until vehicles clear.
  • Emergency Access: Knox Box key switches and siren sensors provide emergency gate access for first responders.

Every primary and secondary safety device is tested and documented before final commissioning.

From Concrete Pad to Gate Control

Total Entry Control Systems is a licensed Florida Electrical Contractor (ET11000945). Our full-time team handles concrete, power, low-voltage wiring, and commissioning as one coordinated installation.

Concrete Equipment

Pads

We excavate, form, and pour reinforced concrete pads engineered to support heavy estate gate posts, commercial posts, and high-torque operator chassis against 150+ MPH hurricane wind loads.

In-House Trenching &

Power

Our crews trench PVC conduit, pull dedicated electrical feeds, and install disconnects in accordance with applicable National Electrical Code requirements.

Low-Voltage Safety

Wiring

We run shielded low-voltage cabling for access keypads, telephone entry intercoms, loop detector boards, and monitored photo eyes without leaving exposed wiring.

System Commissioning

We mount the operators, set travel limits, program soft-ramping motor speeds, connect emergency fire switches, and integrate your gate with cloud access controllers or homeowner mobile apps.

Frequently Asked Questions

Direct answers to common questions regarding gate retrofits, mechanical configurations, storm power, and maintenance schedules.

Can you install new automated operators on our existing iron or aluminum gates?

Yes. If your physical swing or slide gates are structurally sound, plumb, and have proper ground clearance, we can retrofit your entrance with modern residential or commercial operators, safety sensors, and mobile access controls without the cost of building new gate panels.

A tracked slide gate runs on steel V-groove wheels along an inverted angle-iron track bolted to the driveway. A cantilever slide gate hangs suspended above the driveway on reinforced rollers mounted to counterbalance posts. Cantilever gates require no ground track, making them ideal for areas with sand, debris, or shifting asphalt.

Our gate systems include integrated 24V DC battery backup that automatically supplies power to the motor during municipal outages. You can configure the system to remain in normal operation for hundreds of cycles or automatically fail open until power returns.

High-traffic HOA and commercial gates should receive quarterly preventative maintenance, while private residential estate gates should be serviced once a year. Our scheduled service visits include lubricating hinges and roller bearings, testing UL 325 safety photo eyes, checking drive chain tension, measuring battery voltages, and inspecting loop detector sensitivity.

Yes. We maintain a fleet of fully stocked service vehicles dispatched from our Davie facility across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach Counties. Our technicians carry replacement operator control boards, loop sensors, photo eyes, and chain hardware to repair damaged gates quickly.

Start With a Clear Plan for Your Gates

Whether you are replacing an unreliable operator or planning a new entrance, our licensed Davie team will assess your traffic, layout, and existing equipment, then provide an itemized gate recommendation.
